Cricket has always been known as a summer sport. It is the season when you get perfect, dry flat pitches to make the ball bounce better and more predictably. Hence, playing the game when it’s hot outside is preferable.
Recently, Infocity, the best conceptualized IT Park in India, came up with an enthusiastic idea of a night cricket tournament and turned the summer days exciting. It was named as the Infocity Premier League (IPL) and held at Infocity Club & Resort. The tournament was managed by the Creative Infocity Limited and organized in association with CricHeroes App, with all the matches live on CricHeroes. The duration of the entire tournament was from 1st June- 2nd July 2019.
This exciting cricket tournament at the I.T. Metropolis of Gujarat was a highly engaging one that was digitally advertised to reach 65,000 people in the state. Forty-three (43) teams came forward with extreme zeal and zest from different parts of Gujarat like Gandhinagar, Ahmedabad, Kalol, etc. The students from various schools and colleges like PDPU nearby the I.T. Park also eagerly took part in the Infocity Premier League.
To make the tournament a fun and interesting one, teams of various age groups and professions like doctors, children, and I.T. professionals participated in the Infocity Premier League. The I.T. companies that are located in the Infocity campus also showed extreme keenness towards the Infocity Premier League. The teams from organizations like Odoo, Intech, Etech, Trellisoft, Prismetric, Advantmed, Maxim, etc. had a great time playing some thrilling cricket in the IPL.
Infocity strived to make the tournament equally interesting for audiences of different language preferences, and thus, there was a live commentary of the entire tournament done in English and Hindi both. The Infocity Premier League was able to create a huge buzz and entice the sponsors like Mocha, Sun Food & Beverages, etc. All the players who participated in the tournament were encouraged and appreciated with certificates and sports apparel vouchers.
Finally, it was the Sardar CC team that won the Infocity Premier League. They were acknowledged with a winner prize of Rs 51,000 and an excellent trophy. The Infocity Premier League recognized the runners up team Cricbuddiez with prize money of Rs 25,001 and an award. Moreover, Infocity believes that appreciating players encourage them to perform better in the future. Hence, the player of the tournament was also offered prize money of Rs 5,001 and a trophy.
The updates of the entire tournament were available on social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram, and the IPL attained a massive digital engagement because of that. Overall, the Infocity Premier League ended with tremendous success and great memories for the teams, Infocity management, and the audience too.
